Paws of Promise is a foster-based rescue dedicated to making thoughtful, well-matched placements for dogs in need. Because we do not operate a public shelter or have a walk-in location, all adoptions begin with an application.
Our team carefully reviews each submission, a process that can take up to 5–7 days, and while every application is considered, submitting one does not reserve or guarantee a specific dog. As a shelterless rescue, meet-and-greet opportunities may be limited, and some dogs may be adopted quickly while applications are under review.
We encourage prospective adopters to check each dog’s profile for updates and to explore multiple potential matches. By sharing detailed information on your application and reviewing our adoption guidelines, you help us ensure the best possible outcome for both our dogs and the families who welcome them home.
About.
Our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate dogs in need, providing them with safe housing, essential veterinary care, and nutritious food. We are dedicated to supporting animals who have endured neglect or abandonment by offering compassionate care and a path to a loving forever home. Through community education, we aim to raise awareness and teach practical approaches to working with animals affected by emotional or physical trauma. Our work also supports the shelters and staff who give these animals a second chance, ensuring they have the resources needed to continue their vital care.
We are based out of Hyde Park, Vermont. We focus on dogs in Lamoille County.
